Is There True Healing Power in Forgiveness?

I’m Asking the World…What’s Your Answer?

From Rachel Bagby

Dear Friend,

I buried my father on June 3rd. The next day, a pang of grief hit me when I realized that 2006 is the first year my father won’t be around on Fathers’ Day.

Moved to do something healing in memory of his spirit, to help heal the grief in my heart, I’ve decided to give the world the gifts of healing he gave me; perhaps the biggest gifts any dad and his daughter can ever exchange: awareness of everyday forgiveness.

The timing is perfect for you and your loved ones to receive these gifts. Forgiveness Week 2006 begins on June 17th, the day before Fathers Day.

As you listen to “Forgiveness” from my CD Full, receive the golden ripples of healing sounds as gifts that help release any grief in your heart.

See below for the inspiring story about how forgiveness helped my father and me rest in peace as I mid-daughtered his last breaths.

But now, please don’t wait another minute to receive the gift of asking yourself:

“What will it take for you to forgive?”

Are you willing to be part of an effort with people from all over the world to help humanity answer the eternal question of how to overcome our collective forgiveness challenges?

Maybe you’re one of the fortunate few. All that ever needs to be forgiven in your life with your family and community automatically is—wholeheartedly. If so, please tell us what it took for you to master forgiveness!

Most of us, however, have someone or something we have yet to forgive. By answering the question below, “What Will It Take for You to Forgive?” perhaps you’ll begin a personal journey of awareness that helps to shape history and heal ancient wounds.

Who knows what will happen if, worldwide, enough people tell each other what it will take for them to really forgive.

“What will it take for you to forgive?”

What did it take for me to forgive my father?

You see, my father and I were estranged for over 13 years. I missed my Daddy terribly and longed to heal our relationship.

Since his limiting beliefs about a “daughter’s place” were at the center of our tussle, I had to learn how to accept him as is AND stay free of his conditioning. I had to learn how to practice empowering forgiveness every day.

Just like it took practice for me to turn the musical gifts that I inherited from my father into the ripples of healing you hear over and over again in “Forgiveness”...

It also took practice to forgive my father. For several months I spent time…seven days in a row…writing down 70 intentions (and related challenges) about forgiving my father.

Soon, the teaching of Jesus that says we are to forgive others 70x7 times started working like a healing mathematical formula. I understood how to live free of Dad’s limiting beliefs and still share the honest love we felt for one another.

Two years ago, Dad grabbed me close in his hospital room and asked me to forgive him for any heartache or hardship he ever caused me. From then on, we practiced everyday forgiveness together. When he died, we both rested in peace.

If this healing story of everyday forgiveness inspires you, please help spread the word. Tell your family & friends about this site, OK?
